Our society is now digitally networked and students of today are "digital natives," having grown up with technology as an integral part of daily life. Educators are beginning to take advantage of the digital tools students are already using to build more productive relationships. These same tools can also be employed to foster collaboration with colleagues in communities of practice. There are no typical uses for these tools. Each has specific capabilities and can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Here are just a few:
